Bacon-Wrapped Asparagus Bundles
Sometimes you just gotta take something good — like fresh spring asparagus — and make it great by wrapping it in bacon. This simple but knockout recipe brings the smoky, salty, crispy goodness we all crave. Perfect for cookouts, holiday tables, or just because you’re living your best life.

Ingredients
-
1 pound fresh asparagus, woody ends snapped off
-
1 pound thick-cut bacon (about 12–16 slices)
-
2 tablespoons olive oil
-
½ teaspoon garlic powder
-
½ teaspoon black pepper
-
¼ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional, for a smoky kick)
-
2 tablespoons brown sugar (optional for a sweet glaze)
-
Toothpicks (optional, for securing)

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20–25 minutes
Total Time: 30–35 minutes
Yield: 4–6 servings
Instructions
-
Prep the Asparagus:
Rinse and dry the asparagus. Group 3–5 spears together into little bundles, depending on the size of the asparagus. -
Season 'Em Up:
Drizzle the bundles lightly with olive oil. Sprinkle with garlic powder, black pepper, and smoked paprika if using. -
Wrap It Up:
Take one strip of bacon and spiral it around each bundle, starting at the base and working your way up. Tuck the end under the bundle or secure it with a toothpick if you need to. -
Sweet (Optional) Glaze:
If you want a little sweet twist, sprinkle a tiny pinch of brown sugar over each bacon wrap. -
Cookin' Time:
You’ve got two good options:-
Oven Method:
Preheat your oven to 400°F. Place bundles on a wire rack over a baking sheet lined with foil. Bake for about 20–25 minutes until bacon is crispy and asparagus is tender. -
Grill Method:
Heat your grill to medium heat. Grill bundles, turning occasionally, for about 12–15 minutes until the bacon is cooked and slightly charred.
-

Serve Hot:
Best served hot off the grill or out of the oven. Perfect with a side of cold beer or sweet tea and a sunset if you can swing it.
Pro Tip:
For an extra Oklahoma kick, brush with a little 13th Colony bourbon glaze ( 1/2 cup Brown Sugar & 2 TBS Bourbon) in the last 5 minutes of cooking!
